December 2025

January

  1. Start website planning.
  2. Raise hospital discharge policy and NHS physio at the PPG meeting next week.
  3. Discussion about campaign for local appointments at our next meeting.
  4. Raise the value of 'Primary Care Hubs' at the PPG meeting next week.
  5. Send email to Chair and CEO of RCHT about emergency care provision.
  6. Write to the Chief Nursing Officer about 'Home for Lunch' plans.
  7. Compile, anonymise and circulate received patient stories.

February

  1. Contact Healthwatch Cornwall re 'Home for Lunch'.
  2. Contact Healthwatch Cornwall and the Discharge Ward sister, about discharges to care homes.
  3. Email CEO of the commissioning group, re stalling of 24/7 of the WCH UTC.
  4. Invite the new RCHT Chair to a meeting.
  5. Local  appointments, campaign group to report back to our next meeting.

March

  1. Post on our Facebook page asking for stories physiotherapy experiences following total hip or knee replacement surgery, from NHS and private patients.
  2. Circulate the Referral Management Service leaflet to members.
  3. Post on our Facebook page asking for patient stories about receiving hospital appointments.
  4. Campaign meeting next Tuesday.
  5. Investigate free website hosting and set up.
  6. Contact Penwith Integrated Forum to put earwax removal on the agenda of the next meeting.
  7. Contact Healthwatch Cornwall to liaise with earwax removal campaign.
  8. Locate previous earwax removal press releases.
  9. Plan for meeting with RCHT.

April

  1. Ask for earwax removal to be on the PICF agenda.
  2. Follow up email to Chair and  Chief Operating Officer with follow up questions following our meeting with them, and  thanking them for meeting with us.

May

  1. Members to provide a short biography and photo for the website, and look for old photos.
  2. Raise the issue of what functions CRCH has and what is the equivalent in West Cornwall at the next PICF meeting.
  3. Attend a workshop about Outpatient appointments

June

  1. Arrange a time for three members to go through the Archive boxes.
  2. Prepare a paper comparing CRCH and WCH.
  3. Contact the organisers of the workshop about Outpatient appointments for slides and answers following the workshop. Raise OP appointments at PICF and PPG meetings.
  4. Monitor daily attendances at Treliske ED and WCH UTC comparing attendances.
  5. Write to the Chair of RCHT to ask about dates and details of clinics at WCH.
  6. Contact the mayors and clerks about the campaign.
  7. Campaign group to meet next week.
  8. Engage with GPs over OP referrals.

September

  1. Peter to email his latest paper to the group.
  2. Check on levels of rehabilitation at WCH.
  3. Check if surgeries are displaying posters, and members to circulate posters.
  4. Monitor Marazion TC to see if the campaign is raised at their next meeting.
  5. Arrange a website meeting.
  6. Email RCHT CEO about A&E beds and corridor care.

October

  1. Submit a FoI request re A&E patients' treatment.
  2. Contact RCHT Chief Operating Officer to pursue the plans to enable rebooking appointments locally.
  3. Reply to RCHT Head of Transformation that we wish to meet the RCHT team.
  4. Update the FB page asking for patient experiences of booking appointments, preserving confidentiality.
  5. Contact RCHT Chief Operating Officer about Helston eye clinic concerns.
  6. Make contact with a non executive member of the C&IoS ICB about our concerns for MIUs in Cornwall with regard to government policy.
  7. Contact Andrew George about the community action festival on 24th October about setting up a WCHW table.

November

  1. Contact Unison rep for any information about further action  re clerical and admin. job losses.
  2. Write to RCHT Chief Operating Officer and CEO regarding the temporary bed situation.
  3. Invite Matthew Boulter, GP and clinical lead for Penwith PCN to a meeting.
  4. Write to Jim McKenna about the implications of patients being moved from hospital to home care.
  5. Send a card offering condolences to Toni Carver's family (St Ives Times and Echo).
