Looking forward to our AGM next Friday, with guest speaker Bert Biscoe, talking about “Providing Cornish health services and transport to a growing population”
-
Choose and Book: Continuing to campaign for a real choice to be offered to patients (We can offer you treatment at your nearest hospital, or the earliest appointment which could be further away, etc)
-
Ramsay Health Care threat to NHS provision: Disappointment that our press release about this was not published. See it on the Press Statements page of our website. The public need to realise that if they choose to have their NHS treatment at Duchy Hospital, or Bodmin Treatment Centre, then funds will be diverted from the NHS to a private company
-
Poltair: Disappointment that the Health and Adult Overview and Scrutiny Committee at Cornwall Council chose not to speak out about the closure of Poltair at their meeting last week. This is very clearly impacting on the ‘bed blocking’ currently experienced at RCHT, and means that elderly patients are not able to be cared for in their local hospital
-
‘Organisation Map’: Graham will prepare an organization map for us, showing who does what, and budgets, in Cornwall’s Health and Social Care systems – hopefully ready for the AGM
-
Website update: The front page has been updated, finally, but some pages remain inaccessible. Committee decided unanimously that it wished to bring the website back ‘in house’
