West Cornwall HealthWatch is a local community and voluntary association. We are all volunteers and have no paid staff. Our activities are entirely funded through donations and supported by good will.
West Cornwall HealthWatch is entirely separate from Healthwatch Cornwall and has no official connection with that body, although we appreciate the valuable work it does. Healthwatch Cornwall is funded by the government, covers the whole of the county and staff are employed.
Our primary aim:
West Cornwall HealthWatch aims to monitor developments and campaign to safeguard and improve existing services provided in West Cornwall by the National Health Service.
Our objectives:
- Gather information on the state, effectiveness, validity and importance of all aspects of NHS provision in West Cornwall
- Determine the group's priorities in local healthcare provision
- Work together to protect and promote the group's priorities for the provision of healthcare in West Cornwall
- Consult and liaise with specialists, professionals and others with common interests
- Be an independent group, and remain above party politics and factional interests
